A True Village Fair

The town of Evandale bands together each year to combine market stalls and a variety of entertainment in the streets and parks surrounding a race circuit for the National Penny Farthing Championships, creating the ambience of a colonial country fair.

Our Achievements

Evandale is currently the worlds largest Penny Farthing racing event. Officially recognized by Guinness World Records Ltd.

Past holder of the world record for a Penny Farthing Stack (the greatest number of penny farthing bicycles, freestanding, and held together by hands only) - 69, Evandale, 26.2.2000. Officially recognized by Guinness World Records Ltd.

Winner of five Tasmanian Tourism Awards, Special Commendations at two National Tourism Awards.

For Motorhomes, Caravans, and Campers

For the Evandale Village Fair weekend, bookings are available at several sites nearby.

The Dump Point at Morven Park is no longer available. Northern Midlands Council advise the following sites are available:

  • Longford (dump point at Longford Caravan Park for a fee)
  • Campbell Town (Free dump point on King Street)
  • Ross Caravan Park (for a fee)

Alternatively, patrons will find alternative sites in Launceston or Meander Valley areas.

Morven Park - Football & Cricket Grounds

Sites are available, toilets and showers can be accessed in the club rooms.

Cost $20 per van per night.

Falls Park - The Evandale Market Grounds

Free parking, but vans must be moved on Saturday night, as the Evandale Market will be held on Sunday. You can relocate to Honeysuckle Bank (the Evandale riverbank).

Must be fully self contained - no amenities provided.

A permit is required - please organise with Northern Midlands Council on (03) 6397 7303.

Riverside Caravan Park

At 2a Archer St, Longford - 15km from Evandale.

Powered and unpowered sites and cabins are available, all amenities included.
